Math Department Chair
Since 2011, Oleg has worked for the Los Angeles Math Circle, a free Sunday math school run by the UCLA math department. He has trained 11 multiple state and national champions in various math competitions and has created an algorithm (along with one of his students) that diagnoses Parkinsons disease in its early stages with nearly 100% accuracy. As a research mathematician, he has published in top journals, including Transactions of the American Mathematical Society and Advances in Mathematics. Oleg’s goal at Geffen Academy is to create and teach a math curriculum that prepares students for the challenges of the digitized era and showcases the infinite beauty of mathematics. Oleg graduated with honors from Moscow State University and received his Ph.D. in Math from Northeastern University. He did his post-docturate work at UCLA from 2001-2004.
